Hunger Strikers’ Memorial in Hartford, CT
Ten Irish Republicans trying to gain status as political prisoners died in a hunger strike while in prison in 1981. To honor the courage and sacrifice of The Ten, a group of Irish-Americans established a hunger strikers’ memorial in Hartford, CT.

THE BOBBY SANDS CIRCLE TRUST maintains the Celtic cross memorial and uses donations for its upkeep. Inscribed on the memorial are the names of the hunger strikers.
